F*ck Off Island goes green

>> 7/24/08

The stars have aligned! I have found a way to include a ginormous picture of my boyfriend, Johnny Depp, on my blog. I just couldn't resist once I found out he is installing a solar hydrogen system to power his entire island in the Bahamas. I am sorta bummed that he stole the name I was going to use for my private island, but since he is so amazing, I will let it go.

What he is doing is actually pretty sweet. This will the be 4th grid of it's kind ever built. Mike Strizki, the eco-genious himself, will be building Johnny one bad-a$$ power source. Mike has his entire 3,500 square foot home supplied by a combo of solar and hydrogen. He was the first person to construct such a system. I saw him featured on a TV show once, it's a really cool set up. I wonder how that relationship between the two started? Did Johnny reach out to him? If so, I think my infatuation factor has doubled, which is really going to piss off my husband. I am interested to see if he is incorporating any other green materials into his island home. I will have to stay tuned to Ecorazzi.com.

If, I mean when, I have my own island I will follow suit. Most private islands are powered by a hybrid system of solar, wind, batteries and back-up gas generators. Johnny is skipping the gas back-up. So I think I might have to go check this place out. You think I can make it there on a jet ski leaving from Cocoa Beach Florida? It is worth a shot. Maybe he'll take pity on me as I wash up on his island begging for food and water... and possibly a hug, a really long hug.
